Brian Guarino

Brian has over 13 years of experience working in the textbook industry.  He has been fortunate enough to work with some of the industry’s leaders in innovation, as the landscape has drastically changed over the past decade.

Originally starting out servicing individual college students at the college bookstore level, he has spent the past seven years transitioning to serve Early College and Dual Enrollment programs, helping them realize the same savings that he had been providing for individual students.  This change in philosophy helped in the growth and development of Textbook Acquisition Services.

​When Brian isn’t hunting for deals on textbooks, he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his 2 year old daughter Bayleigh and wife Autumn.

Brian graduated from East Carolina University and currently lives in High Point, North Carolina.

Kamal Chisholm
​Vice President

Kamal has always had a love and passion for books. He turned that passion and hobby into a career. Kamal has been providing course materials to college students for over 15 years. Now, instead of just helping out individual students, he loves having the opportunity to assist entire programs. Kamal truly enjoys finding the most affordable textbooks possible in order to provide maximum savings.

When Kamal is not juggling books, he's working out, playing soccer, solving crossword puzzles, or spending as much time on the beach as possible. 

​Kamal graduated from the University of Central Florida and currently lives in Ft. Myers, Florida. 

Sara Shepard
​Director of Sales

Sara joined the TAS team in 2018 and brought with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the customer service, sales and marketing industries. She has over eight years of experience in client relationship building and is committed to making each customer feel individually considered and important.

She particularly loves working for Textbook Acquisition Services due to her background in the non-profit realm. She understands firsthand how freeing up budgetary space can be monumentally helpful and especially enjoys assisting her clients in this way. Offering rapid response time, Sara prides herself on always being available to her customers.

When Sara isn't working, she has a passion for live music, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.

​Sara graduated from Appalachian State University and currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.
